Immediately after your needling procedure, do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen. These agents will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation and repair.
After your procedure, your practitioner may apply a serum or moisturizing balm/cream, and sunscreen before you leave. Only apply aftercare recommended or provided by the practitioner.
DAY 1
After 6 hours, you can use the recommended aftercare cleanser and moisturizer. Be careful only to dab the skin gently and not rub it.
DAY 2-13
Within two (2) days following your needling procedure, you will start to notice skin dryness and flaking. This is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. During this period, you may apply the recommended skin balm.Days later, your skin will start shedding. These are skin layers that would regularly shed a week later, but the Needling brings this skin to the surface sooner. During this temporary process, your skin will shed and be dry. You scars / stretch marks will look darker as they heal. How long this darkness lasts depends on many healing factors such as age, lifestyle, following aftercare, and if you are prone to hyperpigmentation.
Day 14-40
Your skin will start to look like it is going back to normal usually. Of course, results may vary from patient to patient. Scar treatment may be performed at a deeper level and a little more aggressively, meaning it can take longer to heal. Wait approximately 6 weeks before having another treatment. Do not touch or disturb the treated area for 2 weeks after scar treatment, except to apply aftercare products. Wash hands before applying any products.
Day 60+
If you are prone to hyperpigmentation: After 60 days if your pigmentation still looks dark, you can use a lightening serum to help. Should you require prescription strength lightening formulas, please contact your doctor or search online for a company that is able to prescribe stronger hydroquinone formulas.
